Meganisi is an island between Lefkada and Etoloakarnania. It is the largest island in the Lefkada Princes' Complex, which is why it is so named. It has an area of 22.356 km² and a population of 1.090 inhabitants according to the 2001 census. Meganisi is also one of the largest complexes in the Televoid Islands.

According to the 2001 census, there are three villages on the island, Katomeri (seat of the municipality), Vathi and Spartochori. The famous island of Skorpios ( Onassis ) also belongs to the municipality of Meganisi.
Access to the island is only possible from Lefkada. For Meganisi there are regular ferry connections from Nidri. The ship sails in both ports of the island, in Spilia, a port of Spartochori, and in Vathi. The duration of the route is no more than 25 minutes.
